Northwest Technology Ventures is a formation-stage venture fund. NTV undertakes seed and early-stage venture investments in Oregon with a specific focus on opportunities to commercialize technology developed from the state's public and private universities, research institutions, and corporate research laboratories. NTV's charter is to provide early-stage funding, management assistance, and business development support for new companies. NTV is a $14 million fund addressing the 'capital gap' between conventional early-stage venture funds and research discoveries and technologies. NTV has two portfolios under management, one with companies in which NTV has made a direct investment, the other containing investments made by the former Oregon Resource and Technology Development Account, and transferred to NTV as part of the investment by the Oregon Growth Account Board.
