Pamlico Capital was founded in 1988 as the principal investing arm of First Union and later Wachovia. Today, Pamlico is funded by a number of significant institutional investors, including AlpInvest, GE Capital, Goldman Sachs, HarbourVest, Lexington Partners, Partners Group and Wells Fargo. Operating out of Charlotte, NC, the firm has 22 investment professionals and a leadership team that has been with the firm since its inception in 1988. Pamlico seeks to make growth equity and buyout investments of between $25 million and $125 million per transaction, alongside proven management teams within its target industries: Business & Technology Services, Communications, and Healthcare. The firm currently manages over $2 billion on behalf of its existing limited partners, including significant available capital for new investments. The partners are currently investing out of Pamlico Capital II, a $1.1 billion fund.
