Peterson Partners provides private equity and venture capital to companies across the U.S. with specific focus in the Intermountain West. Peterson invests in companies and equity needs from $2 million to $20 million that have proven business models and revenues at $5-$100 million, and EBITDA at $2-$20 million. Average investment sizes range from $5-$25 million. The firm currently has $300 million under management. Portfolio companies typically have some or all of the following characteristics: proven business models and positive cash flow; talented management; straight-forward competitive strategies; high operating margins that are generally a function of a special value added service, superior brand or advantaged positioning in an embryonic or growing industry; high growth prospects, through a combination of organic growth and acquisition; and potential for improvements in strategy and/or managerial process. Generally the companies Peterson targets have more than $10 million in revenues, are profitable and are at an inflection point in their development. Peterson Partners supports the founder or entrepreneur to continue the company's growth by providing capital, developing strategy, supplementing the management team and eliminating personal guarantees. Peterson has also backed proven business leaders in acquisitions or management-led buyouts of high growth businesses. The firm is investing through Fund V, started in April 2008 with approximately $115 million of committed capital.
