The Portland Seed Fund finds and surrounds the most promising seed-stage companies with capital, mentoring and contacts to nurture vigorous economic growth in Oregon. The Fund invests in 'classes' of 7-8 entrepreneurs at a time, starting them with an initial $50,000 investment, and seeing what they do in 90 days. The Fund repeats the cycle every six months, resulting in approximately 25 investments every two years. The Fund is sector-agnostic in its investments and favors capital-efficient, highly-scalable companies with high-growth potential. Portland Seed Fund enjoys a unique public-private investor base, including Portland Development Commission, Oregon Growth Account, City of Hillsboro, Oregon Entrepreneurs Network's Catalyst Fund and 18 individual accredited investors. The $10.5 million invested in Northwest-based Portland Seed Fund portfolio companies to date has resulted in more than 500 new jobs, more than $30 million in collective revenue and more than $565 million in co-investment.
