Founded in 1990, Progress Investment Management Company is a manager of emerging managers, and currently has over $6.2 billion assets under management. Progress believes that investment firms with less than $2 billion in assets under management possess a distinct performance advantage, especially in asset classes where the ability to take calculated risks and move swiftly is vital to success. The firm engages in many different investment strategies including Small-cap equity, Mid-cap equity, Large-cap equity, Private equity, Fixed income, International equity, and Alternative strategies. There are 57 public market and 11 private equity groups currently funded across a variety of asset classes: Progress has managed private equity assets since 1995 in partnership with Adams Street Partners (formerly Brinson Partners). The firm has invested with 170 emerging managers and graduated 26 managers to direct-hire assignments with its clients. Before Progress was founded over 29 years ago, institutional investors -especially those with limited resources -found it virtually impossible to allocate assets to start-up investment firms.
