Purdue Foundry serves innovators by providing entrepreneurial resources that are aimed at launching new ventures. Based in Discovery Park's Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship, the Foundry supports faculty, staff, student and alumni innovators in all Purdue colleges and departments, and actively engages outside businesses and investors to encourage collaborative research and startup development. Foundry professionals can provide guidance to entrepreneurs on business plans, prototype development, funding, grant writing, regulatory requirements, mentoring and other entrepreneurial activities. Among several funding initiatives, he $12 million Foundry Investment Fund, a not-for-profit fund, seeks to join with other investors to fund companies that are based on Purdue technology or expertise in the areas of human and animal health and plant sciences. The fund provides a match to outside investors' funds. The Foundry knows that in order for client’s innovations to move from being an idea to a commercialized product it takes capital resources. The firm has worked diligently to be able to provide these resources, with funding and investments ranging from $20,000 to $300,000.
