Quaker Capital Investments, LLC is a single family investment office founded in Pittsburgh, PA in 2014. The family office complements its core investments in public equities with regional early stage venture capital investments alongside select world class entrepreneurs primarily through its incubator and university networks at Carnegie-Mellon University, University of Pittsburgh and the University of Pennsylvania. The family office is also developing a direct private equity capability. In partnership with West Allen Capital, the group acquired the Ruscoe Company, a 75 years old adhesives and sealants manufacturer based in Akron, Ohio. Quaker Capital Investments is seeking to build a portfolio of select control investments in high quality, family-owned businesses faced with succession or estate planning challenges. Mr. Mark G. In 1985, he founded the money management firm, Quaker Capital Management Corp. in Pittsburgh, subsequently leading an investment team for 28 years, 18 of which the company also managed a long-short equity hedge fund. After closing the firm and its fund at the end of 2013, he formed Quaker Capital Investments, LLC.
