The Mission of Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center is to empower and increase the entrepreneurial capacities of socially and economically diverse people in the SF Bay Area. Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center is a non-profit organization that provides small business training and support services to women and men throughout the Bay Area. Founded in 1985, Renaissance was one of the first micro-enterprise development programs in the country. Renaissance has served 18,250 very low-to-moderate income women and men who have created and grown over 4,700 sustainable new businesses and over 10,550 new jobs. The group's Business Incubator, launched in 1990, was the first of its kind in Northern California. Located in San Francisco in the SoMa District (275 5th Street), Renaissance's on-site Business Incubator houses over 30 businesses in a supportive entrepreneurial community providing low-cost office space and intensive business development services to help support their success.
