Founded 1994, River Cities Capital Funds has been investing in the Midwest and Southeastern United States for 14 years and currently has nearly $500 million under management. Following the success of the debut fund, the partners raised $90 million for Fund II in 1999 and $137 million for Fund III in 2001. Fund IV closed in March 2008 with $120 million to invest. River Cities invests primarily in high growth Information Technology and Healthcare companies that leverage technology to make their customers' businesses or products/services better, faster, or less expensive. Within IT and healthcare, the business models that make up the River Cities portfolio generally fall into one of four sub-categories: Software as a Service; Enterprise or Infrastructure Software; Business Process Outsourcing; and Devices. The firm invests primarily in expansion stage opportunities with revenues in the $5 million to $15 million range.
