Rocky Point Ventures was founded in 2006 as a private family office in Austin, Texas. Traditionally, RPV has focused on early-stage investing in technology and biotechnology start-ups. Although RPV continues to make these types of investments, they have also begun to seek buyout opportunities. They typically look for companies with $5.0 - $20.0M purchase price and $1.5 - $4.0M EBITDA. Rocky Point manages the capital of Wally Loewenbaum, who serves as Chairman of the Board of Luminex Corporation (LMNX) and 3D Systems (DDD). Mr. Loewenbaum served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Mumboe Corp. (f/k/a Finetooth Corp.), a provider of contract management solutions, from February 2002 to December 2011.
