S3 Ventures is a group of entrepreneurs with $600 million under management who have successfully built technology companies. Each partner has been a CEO or operating executive of at least one successful technology firm. S3 was founded in 2007 with a $20 million fund. It went on to raise a second $20 million fund, then a $25 million fund and a $30 million fund. S3 announced in June 2013 that it had raised a $75 million fund. S3 invests primarily in early stage ventures, including companies with just a management team, or a more defined company seeking to launch after significant engagement with customers and a technology that is approaching market readiness. Investment sizes can start at $250,000 for a seed round, and move to several million for a more traditional Series A or B financing. S3 invests primarily around the Southwest with a focus on Texas. The firm makes Seed, Series A, and Series B investments across three sectors:
Business Technology, Digital Experiences, and Healthcare Technology.
