SCP Vitalife is a Life Sciences Fund formed by SCP Partners (see profile), a U.S.-based investment organization with over $900 million in venture funds under management. Vitalife is an experienced venture firm investing primarily in Israeli medical technology companies. The SCP Vitalife team includes investment professionals with prior experiences as senior executives, clinical practitioners and venture capitalists. The group's focus is on early to mid-stage life science technologies and services, with a concentration on therapeutic medical devices. Over half of the Fund's investment capital is expected to go to Israeli companies with the remainder allocated to U.S. companies. SCP Vitalife's target initial investment size is $3-$7 million, with typical total investment of $7-$15 million over the lifespan of the investment. The Fund's major focus for investment will be: Medical devices for therapeutic uses; Novel diagnostic methods, especially imaging; Biomaterials; Specialty pharmaceuticals and drug delivery; and Healthcare services. SCP Vitalife is a partner in Technion Seed (www.technionseed.co.il), the new incubator from the Technion Institute (Haifa). It is an alliance of Technion Israel Institute of Technology and four venture capital companies that will invest in and support seed stage start-up companies located in Israel. With $230 million under management in two funds, SCP Vitalife has made more than 30 investments in life sciences start-ups since its inception in 2002.
