Ian McKinnon is the founding partner of Sandia Holdings, LLC. Located in Greenwich, Conn., Sandia is the primary investment vehicle for the McKinnon family and related entities. Prior to starting Sandia, McKinnon spent nearly 20 years at Ziff Brothers Investments, from which he retired as a Managing Partner. Before joining ZBI, McKinnon was a consultant with Bain & Company and an investment banking analyst with Merrill Lynch & Co. McKinnon is one of the founding partners of TEAM8, a sports management company. In addition to representing athletes in various sports, TEAM8 recently spearheaded the creation of the Laver Cup, which is the tennis version of golf's Ryder Cup. McKinnon serves on the boards of several non-profit entities including the Santa Fe Institute, the Albuquerque Academy, and the Brunswick School, where he chairs the Investment Committee. Some of McKinnon's outside interests include professional soccer, where he is one of the principal owners of Venezia FC, the professional soccer club of Venice, Italy, currently competing in the second division of Italian Professional Soccer, Serie B. He is also one of the founding partners of New Mexico United, Albuquerque's new professional soccer team in the USL.
