Senterra manages the assets of the Schnitzer family and is run by Douglas W. Schnitzer, as well as David C. Bruce and Celene Buffington. One of the Schnitzer family's most visible assets was its ownership in the 4.3 million square foot mixed-use development project known as Greenway Plaza in Houston. Mr. Schnitzer, through Senterra, developed the luxury residential community in Los Cabos, Mexico known as Villas del Mar. The approximately $1 billion development sets the standard for luxury resort living throughout Mexico with over 200 homes ranging from $3 million to in excess of $20 million. Mr. Schnitzer is a founding partner in Park Place Motorcars, which was one of the largest privately held luxury automotive groups in the United States prior to its sale in August 2020. Mr. Schnitzer retained several dealerships which now operate under the name Avondale Group. Mr. Schnitzer has been a member of the Board of Trust Managers for Weingarten Realty Investors since 1985. Weingarten is a $4 billion publicly traded real estate investment trust listed on the New York stock exchange. Mr. Bruce co-founded DefensiveDriving.com in 1999 and oversees its operations. The company was the first to use the internet to offer state-approved defensive driving in Texas. Since then, DefensiveDriving.com has become recognized as the leading provider of driver education courses in the United States.
