Sevin Rosen Funds was founded in Dallas in 1981 by L.J. Sevin and Ben Rosen. Over the past two and a half decades, the firm has invested in companies such as Compaq, Lotus Development, Cypress Semiconductor, Citrix, CIENA, and Capstone Turbine. The SRF portfolio includes companies in Internet, Media, Software & Services, Technology & Communications Infrastructure, Life Sciences & Healthcare Innovations, Materials & Energy Innovations. Sevin Rosen Fund VIII closed in the fall of 2000 and is capitalized at $875 million. Currently, SRF has $1.8 billion under management. The active funds managed by Sevin Rosen are fully invested. As such, any future investments will be limited solely to companies already in the Sevin Rosen portfolio.
