SightLine Partners is the successor firm to Piper Jaffray Ventures, having acquired the healthcare venture capital operations from Piper Jaffray on December 31, 2004. Sightline Partners' investment strategy is focused on later stage medical device companies that have a near term clarity of exit and provide the best opportunity for risk-adjusted returns in today's medical device industry. The Sightline team currently manages five healthcare funds that have collectively invested in over 70 companies since 1992. The firm's investment size ranges from $2-$8 million depending on the maturity of the company and investments are made throughout the United States. Specifically, the firm focuses investing activities on medical technology companies that are developing proprietary medical devices for treating unmet clinical needs in high value therapeutic areas such as vascular diseases, diabetes, spine, stroke prevention and treatment of pulmonary disease. The firm announced August of 2013 the closing of SightLine Healthcare Opportunity Fund II, L.P., a $107 million Fund dedicated to secondary direct investments in medical technology companies. The team has served as buyers, sellers, board members and advisors to healthcare innovators in more than 200 successful deals.
