Silicon Valley Bank provides diversified financial services to emerging growth and mature companies in the technology, life science, venture capital and premium wine markets. THe bank was declared insolvent March 10, 2023. SVB Capital Partners, the unit's fund management group, invests in private equity funds as well as directly into portfolio companies on behalf of SVB Financial Group and its other investors. The SVB Capital family of funds exceeds $1 billion and includes fund of funds, co-investment funds, venture debt funds and special debt funds invested primarily on behalf of endowments and foundations. The group's funds include: SVB Capital Partners Fund, SVB India Capital Partners Fund, and SVB Strategic Investors Funds. The bank also operates an accelerator support program for life sciences and technology startups. SVB Financial Group has investments in over 350 funds for its own account and SVB Capital has invested in approximately 125 funds and 200 companies in the U.S., India, and China on behalf of third part investors.
