Founded in 2002, Spring Bay is a single-family office with a diverse investment portfolio including private equity, hedge funds, and venture capital. Spring Bay also serves as the provider of management services for The Sontag Foundation (see profile) and Brain Tumor Network. The firm prefers to invest in U.S. companies with various capital deployment needs, including: Growth capital; Divestiture or spin-off; Leveraged buyouts; Acquisition financing; Shareholder liquidity; and Recapitalization. Spring Bay seeks equity investments of $1 to $10 million with the capacity for larger investments in select opportunities. Investments may result in either majority or minority interests. Prior to forming Spring Bay, the principals owned and managed Unison Industries. The firm's investment philosophy is guided by patience, with an eye toward effective exit execution over a 3- to 7-year time horizon.
