Spun off from Tudor Ventures, Spring Lake Equity Partners is a Boston-based private equity firm. The firm invests equity capital primarily in later-stage, technology-oriented private companies. Spring Lake formed its current investment vehicle, Spring Lake Equity Partners LLC, in 2013. The principals at Spring Lake formerly constituted the private equity arm of Tudor Investment, a global hedge fund. Spring Lake is led by Managing Partners Bob Forlenza and Carmen Scarpa, who formed the predecessor group to Spring Lake in 1995. Partners Jeff Williams, Dan MacKeigan, and Jon Danielson comprise the remainder of the senior investment team, which has been investing together as a group since 2001. While at Tudor, the group invested over $650 million in 75 companies across four investment funds and continue to sub-advise several of these funds today. Spring Lake focuses on companies that have reached at least $5-$50 million in revenue. The firm will invest $5 to $20 million in exchange for at least 10% minority ownership.
