StarVest is a venture capital firm that invests an average of $2 million to $4 million initially in expansion stage companies with $2 to $15 million in revenues. Almost all of StarVest's portfolio companies have major customers in the New York Metropolitan area and more than 50% have a sales presence in New York City. StarVest's sector strategy leads the firm to seek leaders in technology-enabled business services anywhere in the U.S. Key industries in the New York Metro area include Financial Services, Advertising, Media and Entertainment, Retailing, Consumer Products, and Telecommunications. StarVest targets companies in Software-as-a-Service, Internet Marketing Services, eCommerce Services, Data and Content Services, and Identity and Security Management. StarVest differentiates itself through its expertise and deep domain knowledge of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). StarVest invests in geographic areas that are less well served by either national or local venture firms (such as Ohio, Arizona, Chicago) because the firm's industry expertise and contacts in New York attract potential portfolio companies. Approximately $500 million has been invested.
