In 199, Steve Woit founded Riga Ventures, a venture firm that invests in media, software, and Internet businesses. Woit helped fund 02138, a magazine and website focused on the Harvard University alumni community, which was purchased by the Atlantic Media Group (publishers of the Atlantic Monthly) in 2006. He was a leading investor in Bitpipe, where he served as EVP of Sales and Marketing; the company was acquired by TechTarget for $40 million in 2004. From 1999-2013, Steve was an active member of the angel investment group CommonAngels, and formerly sat on the group's Board of Directors. Steve was also the Founding Publisher of Xconomy, a leading local news source for biopharma and technology companies in the Boston technology cluster and operating nationally in other leading technology hubs. He is also a Former Director of the BioPharma Executive Council (2013-2017), the leading peer advisory group for biotech CEOs and pharmaceutical executives in Boston (sold to Informa plc). Steve currently is the Founder and Executive Director of The BioPharma Hub, a peer group for BioPharma CEOs and senior executives (thebiopharmahub.com).
