Founded 2009, TEXO Ventures is dedicated to making seed and early-stage investments in healthcare companies and then working in collaboration with founding entrepreneurs to build value. TEXO Ventures takes its name from the Latin texo, meaning to build with great care. The firm is particularly interested in: Health IT, Technology-enabled Health Services, Chronic Disease Management, Managed Care, Benefit Design, and Medical Devices and Functional Diagnostics will be considered, but must have a clear regulatory pathway and obvious synergies with healthcare reform. TEXO Ventures provides expert collaboration critical to launching a healthcare company, actively assisting the leadership for the first 6-18 months of the young company's life. The firm will NOT consider making an initial investment in companies with a premoney valuation greater than $20 million, but tend to focus on opportunities between $3 and $10 million.
