The Lupton Company is a family office established from the sale of the Lupton family's Coca-Cola Bottling Companies. The Lupton Company invests in several different Private Equity and Venture Capital Managers. The Lupton family controlled and managed the largest group of Coca-Cola bottling companies in the U.S., which they sold to the Coca-Cola Company in 1986 for $1.2 billion. John T. Lupton II (July 23, 1926 - May 16, 2010) was an heir to the Coca-Cola bottling fortune. John Lupton had one son, Thomas Carter Lupton II of Sullivan's Island, South Carolina; and three daughters, Alice Lupton Smith of Lookout Mountain, TN, Katherine Lupton Juett of Dallas, Texas and Margaret Lupton Gerber of Memphis, Tennessee.
