TRF is a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) that manages over $706 million in capital and has made over $2.4 billion in community investments, financing over 2,800 projects since its inception in 1985. The Reinvestment Fund (TRF) builds wealth and opportunity for low-wealth communities and low- and moderate-income individuals through the promotion of socially and environmentally responsible development. TRF makes loans, equity investments, and grants to affordable housing, small business, community services, commercial real estate, workforce development, and energy conservation projects. TRF Private Equity manages two funds which in combination have generated almost 1,500 jobs for low- and middle-income workers. The group's original fund, DVCRF Ventures was launched in 1998 and is fully invested in 11 ventures. Urban Growth Partners (UGP) is TRF Private Equity's second venture fund, and has $48.5 million in commitments. Part of UGP, The Baltimore Fund, focuses exclusively on investments in Baltimore city and the surrounding five counties. The fund seeks companies with total investment requirements of $2-$5 million, where TRF's portion of the investment would range from $1-$4 million. TRF Private Equity targets companies that are in or near urban markets in the Mid-Atlantic region including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and Washington, DC.
