Formed in 1976, Three Cities Research is a New York-based private equity firm with approximately $700 million of funds under management. For more than three decades TCR has been investing in a wide variety of industries, including industrial manufacturing, distribution, apparel, publishing, services and retailing. The firm's investment focus is on businesses that are substantially underperforming their potential. Presently, the firm is investing the $452 million Three Cities Funds III, which was organized in 1999. TCR seeks to invest $20 million to $200 million. TCR does not invest in high technology, natural resources, or regulated industries, and chooses to focus on companies that are underperforming their potential.
