Tonkawa, Inc. is the family office of the Carlson family. Curtis Carlson founded Carlson, a global family of marketing, travel and hospitality companies. Tonkawa oversees the Curtis L. Carlson family's non-Carlson Cos. interests. The Carlson's also maintain Carlson Private Capital (see profile), a private firm for Private Equity activities, as well as Carlson Real Estate Company http://carlsonrealestate.biz/, which maintains a real estate portfolio. According to Forbes magazine the family is worth $2.2B. Curt Carlson (d. 1999) got his start selling Gold Bond trading stamps in the 1930s. His daughters Barbara Carlson Gage and Marilyn Carlson Nelson own Carlson Co., which operates over 1,370 hotels (Radisson, Country Inn & Suites) and Carlson Wagonlit Travel.
