Founded in 1998, the partners of Updata have made more than 60 investments in high-growth, information technology companies. Updata Partners invests in market-leading software, internet, and business services companies. Updata Partners currently has nearly $1 billion under management and typically invests between $5 million and $20 million in an initial transaction. The firm's principal focus is on companies with revenues up to $50 million and accelerating revenue momentum. However, profitability is not required and Updata is interested in evaluating earlier stage opportunities. The firm's capital is typically used in the following situations: Growth Capital; Acquisition Financing and Consolidations; and Buyouts, Recapitalizations and Corporate Spinoffs. Updata announced a new growth equity investment fund June 30 of 2016, Updata Partners V, which closed with commitments of $280 million.
