Formerly known as GRP Partners, Upfront Ventures was formed in 1996 and now manages approximately $1 billion on behalf of more than 150 limited partners in North America and Europe. With offices in Santa Monica, Upfront currently seeks investment opportunities in North America and Europe, although the firm will consider opportunities on other continents. Upfront's initial investment is typically $5-$20 million and generally invests $1-$10 million at the Seed or Series A round. Upfront prefers technology-enabled content businesses, with a particular emphasis on video. The firm's traditional markets have been: Consumer & Retail Innovation, Digital Media & Performance-based Marketing, SaaS & Cloud Infrastructure, and Mobile Applications & Infrastructure. Upfront's last fund was the single best performing fund in the United States according to an independent industry database. Upfront raised (June of 2017) $400 million for its sixth early stage venture capital fund.
