The Wharton Alumni Angel Network (WAAN) introduces investment opportunities in early-stage companies to members who are accredited angel and venture capital investors (WAN-Investors). The group also facilitates members (WAN-Mentors) exchanging their time and expertise for sweat-equity in early-stage companies and in entities to be formed by universities for the purpose of commercializing promising technologies. Entrepreneur applications can be submitted by non-alumni, and any Penn (not just Wharton) alum can become a WAN-Investor member. WAAN is a member of Angel Capital Association (ACA) and has three chapters: New York, Southern California, and Silicon Valley. The Wharton School is the business school of the University of Pennsylvania and has a worldwide network of over 100,000 alumni spread across 153 countries.
