    Description:

    Founded 1999, Windspeed Ventures invests in early stage companies in the communications, security, media and Internet services industries. In early 2004 Windspeed Ventures assumed management responsibility for Comdisco Ventures' portfolio. This portfolio consists of equity and warrant positions in over two hundred companies. The companies represented are in all phases of growth. Major industries represented include Software and Services, Communications, Healthcare and Life Sciences. Windspeed commonly invests between one and five million dollars over the lives of their investments, usually representing the first institutional capital. Windspeed tends to favor companies located in the Northeast of the United States, however, on occasion the firm will invest in companies headquartered elsewhere in the country. Windspeed's partners seek to be part of the board of directors of its portfolio companies. For twenty years, Windspeed Ventures has worked alongside industry leaders in emerging markets.
