Worcester Polytechnic's accelerator fund is managed out of the Office of Intellectual Property and Innovation. The Office of Intellectual Property & Innovation (IPI) at WPI identifies, evaluates, values, protects, classifies, markets, and licenses the intellectual property assets developed by WPI researchers and other significant users of WPI resources. WPI's accelerator prefers to make early investments in promising technologies/ventures coming through the Tech Advisors Network, WPI's virtual incubator. The fund can provide investments of up to $50,000 into ideas that have a clear commercial pathway. Typically, the Fund will co-invest rather than be the single source of financing. The fund is eligible to faculty, students, or alumni of WPI. The IPI works closely with the Tech Advisors Network to help inventors market their idea or invention.
