XFactor Ventures is focused on making pre-seed and seed stage investments in companies with billion dollar market opportunities that have at least one female founder. XFactor Ventures invests in companies with a female founder -- the 'X Factor' -- who have the insight and drive to build the next billion dollar company. The firm provides needed capital, the connections and 'in the trenches' advice and mentorship to its portfolio. The firm targets a $150k one-time investment. XFactor was launched by Boston venture capital firm Flybridge Capital as a way to address the gap in funding for female entrepreneurs. The firm was started by Kate Castle and Chip Hazard of Flybridge, but its investment team is made up of female entrepreneurs spanning Boston, New York and San Francisco. The XFactor investing partners are current successful operators, who have collectively raised over $150M in capital for their own companies. XFactor is a network of 70+ women-led portfolio companies.
