Health Enterprise Partners, L.P. is an independent growth equity fund focused exclusively on healthcare services and information technology companies whose customers are typically hospital systems or health plans. HEP's investors include 16 of the largest hospital systems and health plans in the United States representing over 200 leading hospitals and 50 million insured lives. Health Enterprise Partners, L.P. was formed in 2006 by four principals previously associated with CB Health Ventures including: Daniel M. Cain, a co-founder of CB Health Ventures and Cain Brothers, a healthcare focused investment banking firm, Robert B. Schulz, also a co-founder of CB Health Ventures, Richard H. Stowe, previously a General Partner of Welsh, Carson, Anderson, & Stowe (1979-1998) and Senior Advisor and co-investor with CB Health Ventures since 2000, and Rhett D. Thurman, a former principal of CB Health Ventures and hospital administrator. The firm generally does not invest in pre-revenue companies, preferring investment sizes up to $5 - $15 million in companies that are profitable or have a very clear path to profitability within 12 to 18 months.
