Khosla Impact is a $30 million venture fund founded by Vinod Khosla in 2011. The fund invests long-term capital in for-profit enterprises with specific focus on technologies that can open up markets, increase income levels and productivity, and improve standards of living in the bottom half of the world's economy. Definitive characteristics of these sectors include providing clean and accessible water, on-demand energy and affordable healthcare, tools for economic empowerment like information-based platforms, education, mobile marketplaces, and agricultural supply chains. Asia is the preferred geographic location, however Khosla is open to all countries and regions. The fund looks to make investments of $200,000 to $2 million per startup for around 10 companies a year globally.
