Lightbank is a Chicago-based fund focused on early-stage technology companies. Founded by Eric Lefkofsky and Brad Keywell, who founded Groupon, MediaBank, InnerWorkings and Echo Global Logistics. Lightbank will focus on venture investments in early-stage companies in a number of industries The firm will invest up to $5 million annually and take an active role in helping entrepreneurs turn early-stage ideas into successful businesses ($500,000 to $5 million seed stage $500k-1.5 million; Series A $1.5-5 million). Lightbank's principals have started 9 companies, invested in nearly 50 companies, raised over $1.5 billion and created over $10 billion in equity value. These companies employ more than 15,000 people in over 100 offices.
