Romulus Capital (RC) is a seed-stage venture capital fund raised to help talented students at the most entrepreneurial institutions transform their passions to action. Romulus Capital was founded in 2008 by Krishna K. Gupta while an undergraduate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and was co-founded by Anantshree Chaturvedi and Cankut Durgun. Neil Chheda joined the firm full-time in 2012 after the successful sale of his company. The firm closed Romulus Capital I, focused primarily on investing in diverse ideas generated by Boston area entrepreneurs. Romulus' investment team is made up of graduate students, undergraduate students, and recent graduates. In the Fall of 2013, Romulus raised $42.2 million toward a Romulus Capital II L.P., which has a total offering amount of $50 million. Romulus closed the fund at $50M June of 2014. Romulus looks for B2B companies leveraging technology and science, mostly across the US and sometimes overseas. The firm seeks to invest between $250K-$10M in brilliant--often first-time--entrepreneurs who are usually affiliated with top universities and incubators and can scale to investments of $5M+ over time.
