Wichita Technology Corporation (WTC) is a private commercialization corporation created in 1994 through a partnership between the Kansas Technology Enterprise Corporation (KTEC), the Wichita State University, and Wichita Area Development, Inc. to create and sustain a formal innovation network that will support technology advancement, transfer and commercialization in Kansas. WTC is a 501c(3) not-for-profit corporation and is governed by an independent board of business, academic and government leaders who represent each of the founding entities in the public-private partnership. Wichita Technology Ventures, LLC, managed by WTC, provides early-stage seed financing to emerging companies developing promising new technologies. Partners in the venture fund include KTEC, Wichita Area Development and Wichita Technology Corporation. Wichita Technology Ventures' typical investment ranges from $25,000 to $200,000. Occasionally, larger investments are made. WTC can provide the following services for its clients: business plan consulting, market research, competitor analysis, sales and marketing strategy development, public relations and promotion, patent and trademark assistance, and business valuation.
