The Wyoming Technology Business Center is a 30,000 sq. ft., not-for-profit business incubator that assists in the process of start-up and growing companies. The WTBC looks for high growth companies with an emphasis on technology-related firms, with an emphasis upon finding entrepreneurs that could build at least a $5 million a year business with a net profit margin of between 20% and 25%. While a few clients are still in the development phase, the emphasis is on finding good entrepreneurs who have the potential to grow and develop their own companies and who are close to taking a product or service to market. Services at the WTBC include educational and mentoring programs, business services, and infrastructure located on the main University of Wyoming campus. Tenant companies located within the Wyoming Technology Business Center will receive: increased credibility due to their association with a prestigious research institution (UW is one of 145 Carnegie Foundation Doctoral Research Extensive Universities); shortening of the corporation learning curve; learn problem solving techniques; access to business advisory committees; improved access to capital resources; access to University faculty expertise and student employees; and access to University infrastructure resources such as libraries, sophisticated equipment and laboratories, and information technology services.
